i'm listening to Christmas music.

But only because it's the new She&Him album. SO, haven't blogged in a million years. That's what happens when I take 4 AP classes and apply to college. But on the bright side, tomorrow I should be sending off my first 3 applications. :) That brings me so much joy. It's been a rough past few weeks trying to get all these silly college things taken care of. I also had to write 18 logs for English this week, we are reading personal narratives. Marching Band regular season finishes up on Sunday! I'm so excited for our show! Anyhow, this a blog post to swear to myself and anyone who reads this. I will blog. OFTEN.

until next time,
MT

this always cheers up my stressed out self.

i like reading.

Hello, hope all is well!
Summer vaction is coming to a close, how exciting. I'm a senior this year, the big girl in town. I just finished my summer reading/ writing for AP English last week when it was due, and I thought I would share my own personal summer reading list, which is wayyyy better than the one assigned to me. (Don't worry, I read all the boring books too.)

Books!
1. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Steig Larson
2. Smashed by Koren Zailckas
3. The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri
4. A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini

Those titles were some of my favorites, but for sure not all of the books I read this summer.

best night ever.

Hello! Quick post, and then it's back to college applications and research.
Yesterday, I went to the Gavin DeGraw, Train, and Maroon 5 concert at my State Fair. OH my goodness, it was amazing. Train is one of my favorite bands and they were so fantastic I just about cried. The show was outstanding, and I danced and sang my life away. It was the perfect definition of summer. Ahh. I made a playlist of all the songs they sang so I can come back to it in the winter and reminisce. Now, listen to these and tell me you don't want to smile.

saturdays

Hi to you lovely people! I hope you had a great week. Week 1 of band camp is officially over and I am extremely happy to say it was a success. Of course we got yelled at multiple times, did far to many push ups and listened to a fantastic story about Tinkerbell (twice) but we also learned half of our show! It's coming along quite swimmingly. Also in the news, I got a Christmas gift (I'm aware, its January) from family friends and It is wonderful! It's a Vera Bradley "Taxi Wallet" and its about everything a teenage girl could ask for in a small wallet. Saturdays are one of the two days I don't have band in the summer, so I worked 8-2, went to the thrift store for 15 minutes and then came home expecting to go to my boyfriends house. Unfortunately, plans don't always work out around here, so I stayed home and studied for ACTS and (wait for it, wait for it) cleaned my closet! Two hours later it looks great, and I even got a " Great use of time" from my momma :). It is all organized and fancy, which is quite opposite of my personality, so I can only imagine how long it will remain like this. Then I decided to work on my AP English homework and update my blog and Tumblr. So here I am. I will blog again shortly!

major slacking.

HELLO, I am so busy it is crazy. Two weeks ago I made a crazy trip to Boston and visited 9 colleges. It was lovely. And then I worked everyday the next week, and I also had marching band everyday. Tomorrow starts Band Camp, the most wonderful two weeks of summer. Sarcasm, if you can't tell. It's gonna be a party. I also will have to work in between 3 hour practices and write a letter to my AP English teacher, fill out a college application, write an essay, and get a parking pass for school. This is really just a Landry list for my own use. Also, memorize marching band music. WOOOOT. so I will leave you with the wonders of Foster the People. Good day to you.

Flipped!

Hello all, I hope you are having a great day!
Right now I am watching Flipped for the first time. I LOVE IT. The actors and the actresses are amazing. I read the book when I was in 9th grade, and it was my favorite. The best part is that it alternates point of view, which is great in a little love story. Bryce and Juliana hate each other but then grew to love each other. This movie is so cute. I almost just started crying. I need help. The grandfather is my favorite character. Wow, that movie ended far to quickly. I wish I had more plaid shirts, that's what they wore a lot in that movie. Ah. I will leave you with a preview and quote. Night friends <3
Some of us get dipped in flat, some in satin, some in gloss; but every once in a while, you find someone who's iridescent, and once you do, nothing will ever compare.

My day, has been made.

I was just reading the post on SparkLife. Which rocks, by the way. Sparknotes is for so much more than just cramming when you don't do your English reading. But, there was a post by a writer who blogs books she likes. The book is called Dear Mr. Potter. You guessed it, its about the only and only Harry James Potter. SO GOOD. It's a collection of letters written by fans to Harry, the other amazing characters, and J.K. I got even more excited when I discovered, IT'S A WEBSITE TOO! I proceeded to go on the website and read all the post. This is brilliant. I love websites with stories and letters, and I love Harry. The two together is the next best invention since facebook. I'm going to write a letter, but not right now. Because I have to pack and clean and do other things that are not of my particular liking.
